For Immediate Release:
Woodstock, Illinois -
November 21, 2003
The Bundling Board Inn, Woodstock Illinois, has received
sought-after distinction as a member of the Illinois Bed and Breakfast
Association (IBBA). The
IBBA was founded in 1987 to serve the State of Illinois as an asset to
the Tourist and Hospitality industry.
Before being granted membership, an Inn must pass an on-site
inspection and meet a rigorous code of standards that are under
continual review by the IBBA Standards Coordinator and Inspectors.
The IBBA quality assurance review program is designed to assure a
high level of safety, comfort, cleanliness and hospitality.
“This is an exciting and rewarding accomplishment for the
Inn. Receiving IBBA
certification signifies our commitment to providing our guests the best
possible lodging experience,” says Merida and Russell Johns, owners
and innkeepers. “Hospitality and personalized attention to our guests is
foremost. Our desire is
that the burdens of today’s modern, face-paced life are forgotten when
entering the serene
environment of the Inn,” emphasizes Merida Johns.
Built in the mid-1890’s the Queen Ann Victorian provides an
intimate atmosphere where guests feel welcomed and pampered.
Surrounded with antiques, vintage linens, and hand made quilts,
guests enjoy a calming retreat in the inn’s well-appointed and
charming rooms. From fresh
flowers to scented drawer linings and hand-ironed sheets, every detail
to make a guest’s visit memorable has been considered. Guests awake to the aroma of home-backed breads and muffins
that complement a hearty breakfast served on china with linen
tablecloths.
Each of the four guest rooms is named after a woman who lived
around the turn of the 20th century and was noted for
providing distinctive hospitality.
The guests in each of these rooms can enjoy pictures, books and
personal mementoes of each of these women.
“When we made our selection for an Inn location, it was
important to us that the community complement the aesthetic we were
looking for in offering distinctive hospitality and lodging,” says
Merida Johns. “Woodstock
met all of our qualifications. Located
just 3 blocks from the Woodstock village square, our guests can stroll
through tree-lined streets and shop and relax in the quaint charm of
late 19th century Victorian buildings.
And antique hunting, golfing, and winter and summer sports
activities are all available in the area.”
“In the evening there is lots to do in
Woodstock”, says Russell Johns. The
beautiful Romanesque-style Opera House
features plays, concerts, and performances throughout the year
including the nationally renowned Woodstock Mozart Festival each summer. And Off Square Music and the Mast House provide
an evening of musical excitement and entertainment showcasing the very
best folk artists.
“When all's said and done, we couldn’t have
chosen a better place for providing a tranquil get-away from the cares
of the every-day world,” adds the Inn’s owners.
