The Bundling Board Inn’s Death by Chocolate Slumber Party
is walking on the wild side appearing in one of a new seven-part
television series exploring unexpected destinations, undiscovered
treasures and fascinating people throughout the state of Illinois.
Ben Hollis, the original host and co-creator of “Wild
Chicago” will debut his new series “Wild Chicago’s Illinois Road
Trip” in April 2006. This
series of lively half-hour programs is made possible in part by the
Illinois Bureau of Tourism and will be offered to public television
stations across the state.
“We are thrilled that Ben Hollis selected our Death by
Chocolate Slumber Party to include in his new series that promotes
tourism in Illinois,” says Merida and Russell Johns, owners and
innkeepers at the Bundling Board Inn B&B in Woodstock.
The Death by Chocolate Slumber Party is a girlfriend getaway
featuring a five-course decadent chocolate dessert evening that
satisfies even the most discerning chocoholic. “All the chocolate
desserts are made in the Bundling Board Inn kitchen and many of the
recipes, like the seasonal chocolate cranberry bread pudding, are
original to the Inn,” add the innkeepers.
“We started offering the Death by Chocolate Slumber
Parties” to help women get out of rush mode, have fun with their
girlfriends and indulge themselves with amenities they usually don’t
have,” says Merida. “Our
Inn’s charming décor provides an intimate atmosphere where ladies
feel welcomed and spoiled.”
Guests have traveled the breadth of the country to enjoy the
exceptional hospitality and delectable fare offered up during the Death
by Chocolate getaways.
Scenes
for the Death by Chocolate Slumber Party segment were shot at The
Bundling Board Inn on December 2nd . Guests from Chicago and as far away as Milton, Florida
participated in the fun as they went into chocolate overload.
Woodstock paramedics added to the drama
“resuscitating” a “comatose” Ben Hollis from a chocolate
arrest! The segment will
air in Spring 2006 on WTTW Channel 11 and other public television
stations across the state.
